    Brick and Mortar

Geography factors in there, you need a sufficient amount of pipe smokers within a certain driving radius to survive, or barring that a receptive tourist market. Smoking now carries a social stigma, therefore like cigar stores, a modern pipe store needs to be a refuge for pipe smokers, with...

I just had an epiphanic moment with Prince Albert

I keep coming back to PA, I think it's the contrast PA provides to Early Morning and 965 that I like. I mean I like spicy foods Mexican, Italian but sometimes I like comfort foods like pot roast or meatloaf so PA is my comfort smoke. Plus it's cheap. Gotta try Burley Without Bite.

Turner Classic Movies Channel Gone !

I got a digital antenna, plus Roku and with Amazon Prime I really don't miss cable. Although it helps to be in a major city TV market (Chicago), I think I get over 45 channels on antenna free. I do miss TMC though.

Where To Smoke When It's Cold?

I'm going to smoke in the garage this winter. I need the shelter from the winter winds. I expect this will reduce my smoking.

    The Brigham Collection Finally Done

Great looking pipes. I think Brighams are a sleeper brand of pipe too often overlooked at least in the US. Mine are great smokers with nice sized bowls and priced right new.

Burley "Buzzards," The Old Time Leaf Fans

Great thread. I'm getting lots of burley recommendations to explore and broaden my horizon in addition to Prince Albert. Thanks OP and everyone!

    Vintage Marxman Pipe

I have one Marxman, a bent bulldog. My guess is it is post WW II . I don't think it was an expensive pipe but it is a fine smoker.

Burley "Buzzards," The Old Time Leaf Fans

Newbie here, while I tend to prefer English blends in the evening, I too am on a burley kick during the day mainly smoking Prince Albert and enjoying the heck out of it. PA will probably be a permanent part of my rotation.

Shouldn't you be informed if only half your order is shipping?

I recently ordered a pound of tobacco from P&C and only got about 5 oz. Called customer service, they were very nice, I explained situation and within a couple of days a package arrived with, gee 1 oz of tobacco. *facepalm* My next bulk tobacco order was placed somewhere else.

Finally Joined the Brigham Chinook Fan-Club

Dear Canadians, please send all the Brighams you can to the USA, wonderful pipes, we will get rid of them for you. I've got 3 Brighams plus two on order but no Chinooks yet. Even the cheap ones smoke great. OP that is a handsome pipe. P.S. Send more hockey players too!

    French Pipes.

I've got quite a few French pipes in my collection, second only to the Italians in number, all are decent pipes. Just bought a nice new Ropp bulldog that smokes real nice.
