Tobacco Suggestions for a soon to be EX Cig Smoker

Rolling your own cigs is a good idea - you'll be aware of how fewer you smoke. That being said, I smoke a rollie first thing every morning to tame the craving so I can enjoy the more flavorful pipe tobaccos. After over 20 years of smoking cigs, I am down to 1 to 3 cigs per day and enjoying the...

... There's a stigma about women smoking a pipe ...? Wow, I must be even more out of touch than my son thinks!

Russ O knows his burleys - Classic Burley Kake, Angler's Dream, Beverwyck, and Old Tartan (contains the herb deer-tongue).

    Burly's

Angler's Dream, Classic Burley Kake, Scotty's Butternut Burley, and Beverwyck (all from P&C) are some I enjoy regularly. If you like deer-tongue (herb) then add in H&H Old Tartan and C&D Gentleman Caller. In the classics corner, can't forget Granger or Half&Half (Lane version).

    Canned Tobacco Questions

rothnh - it's overtrained, not overthought here. I understand Josh's impulse as I also learned FOOD canning first. We were trained to do something to the jars to make those lids "pop" down within the first 24 hours ... or something failed. It just feels wrong to screw on the lid and set it on...

    Canned Tobacco Questions

No boiling - you don't want to cook the tobacco. I just put warm water in the sink and set the filled jars in that to warm the air in the jar.

    Forever Stems?

    Stupid warning labels are stupid

My favorite was on a (hair) curling iron: "Warning! For EXTERNAL use only!" I don't even want to know what provoked that label ....

    Tracking A Package

Mine left Memphis, TN at zero-dark-stupid this morning and is listed as on schedule. :) That's only 4 hours if one stays within the speed limit! ETA: It's in my town now! As of 20 minutes ago!

    Tobacco Suggestions

Ghosting is when the smell/flavor soak into the pipe and can be detected even when you change tobacco. Thirty-two of the 34 estate pipes I bought in one lot had a stinky and persistent ghost, even the two cobs. The good news is that aromatics will kick out a previous ghost to set up residence...

    Pipes vs Cigars

Room note difference is HUGE. Thankfully, hubby prefers to smoke his cigars either outside or at work. ETA: This is coming from a cigarette smoker, at that.
