*** What Are You Smoking?*** (May 2015)

John Patton's Storm Front, my new favourite.

    Newbie question about pipe filters

I bought a bag of cotton balls from the dollar store. I pinch off a tiny bit that will loosely fit in the tenon. Before loading the pipe I check the draw and after each smoke discard the pellet. The bag of cotton balls from the dollar store will be enough for over a lifetime.

    Pipe Smoking In Books

I also collect these quotes. One of my all time favourites is from John Updike's Roger's Version:

    Alcohol in the bowl

For a long while I used dry pipe cleaners after almost every single smoke. Since I started dipping them in vodka, rum, whiskey, etc. a few months ago, after every smoke, the taste has significantly improved, and the cleanliness also turned out to be more thorough.

    Photos of Yourself/Myself

This picture is really who I am: as long as life's tribulations don't pinch a nerve in me, I'm satisfied with what I have and even find our human reality oddly funny.

    What are You Reading?

@stiivn: Yes, she does, even if I warm up to these books very slowly. Her warm and nourishing approach is very intriguing, viewed in retrospect especially and irresistibly from her act of suicide.

    One Bulk to Stock

+1 Andrew: Rincon de la pipa No. 1. I always try new bulk blends, but this one is really No. 1 for me.

    What are You Reading?

Having finished The Waves and Orlando by Virginia Woods, I just started her The Voyage Out. Sometimes they are tough to read but once successfully entered into the mood, one gets a good taste of the contemplative experience.

    Charring Light, Only Sometimes

I have been perfectly happy without the charring light so far, but after reading this thread, I feel inspired to take one step back to basics and enjoy a more even smoke.

    Pet peeves

After finding, identifying and condemning the most disgusting and loathsome faults in other personages, I hate to rediscover them, sometimes only in the form of inclinations, sometimes as long forgotten deeds, - within myself. This is my greatest pet peeve so far.

    Icons of manliness...
