To all of you smokers with kids.

I smoke in the car on my hour-each-way commute, it's the family car, the window's cracked to draw the smoke, there's little to no lingering smell (as judged by my wife's fickle nose, who would kibosh the matter were there more than a trace). Never with the kids in the car, and not around the...

What's Your Record For Doing "It" In A Single Day?

Usually 3-4 bowls, about 3 hrs smoke time daily. Max has been 10-12, just going sunup to sundown on a nice summer Sunday.

New Pipe From Christopher Pipes AKA 'shikano53'

Smoked the billiard this morning, lends itself really well to tight cuts of tobacco, nice sized bowl and wide draft keeps enough airflow to maintain embers even with hastily-rubbed rope.

New Pipe From Christopher Pipes AKA 'shikano53'

I recently became the proud owner of two pipes from Christopher Pipes - our own shikano53. Here's the bent Dublin: And the Billiard. Sorry for the poor image quality, just some quick cell phone shots that really don't do these justice. I've smoked the Dublin today, nice wide draw...

    Please value my pipe

I'd have to agree $50-60 now is nothing compared to the potential sentimentality. Do try, even if only once before you sell, to sit down and smoke it, and try to imagine him doing the same. I wish I had items from my own grandfather. Beautiful pipe, by the way.

    Drew Estates Aromatics

Thanks for that info! That'll make sourcing additional quantity easier after seeing how these turn out to my palate. Also gives me some confidence in the quality as well, it made sense to me that they were essentially re-badging, but I didn't dig too deep into whose line it was. Even more...

    Drew Estates Aromatics

Thanks for all the replies! Package was delivered today, so I'll get to try them out, looking forward to it based on what you've all contributed.

*** What Are You Smoking?*** (January 2017)

Sutliff Match 965 in a well-loved, undated straight Medico.

What do you do for a living?

@theloniousmonkfish, I'm far from upset at anyone, absurd in this usage would refer to 'out of the realms of my imagination' and was not a negative statement at all, but intended as an adjective to express my awe and respect. I don't want to have anyone 'reveal their taxes', just interested in...

    Drew Estates Aromatics

Has anyone tried these? I picked up a few tins on clearance from Cigars International with a gift card I got for Xmas. Gatsby Luxury Flake Harvest on Hudson Grand Central I'm assuming they're relatively unpopular, as they were on clearance, but would love some input on what to expect if...

What do you do for a living?

@davet, shame on me. My search for 'job' and 'work' turned up little. I should have realized there would be no use of such plebeian words here, and thusly, in my ignorance, I did not find the 'occupation' thread. To all those who responded, facetiously or not, thanks for not rubbing my...

What do you do for a living?

After being here a while and seeing some of the (frankly) absurdly large/expensive purchases posted here, I've been curious. What does the community do for a living? Forgive me if it's a blunt/personal inquiry. I'll start- I work in total loss valuations for commercial/industrial vehicles, but...

*** What Are You Smoking?*** (January 2017)

Virginia Gold Vanilla in a borrowed Jobey Sunburst. It's cold out here, at least for the area.

Dunhill 965 and a turning point?

I'll second what others have said here. Took me weeks to realize that my 'passable' drugstore tobacco was way better than I was experiencing prior, just had to learn how it like to be packed and smoked. Being a newer pipe smoker (~1 yr), I make a habit of not finishing pack and tins so I get to...

    My Magnetic Knife Rack...erm...Pipe Stand!

Sorry to dig up an old thread but I just came across this - I love it! I have limited square footage, and this would work perfectly mounted on a wall near my desk. So if I'm understanding correctly, you just plop the spherical magnet in the bowl, and by nature of its strength, it holds the pipes...
