Washington Smoking in Public Laws: Any advice for enjoying a smoke?

In my neck of the woods, the neighboring town of Vancouver, WA passed some smoking laws about 10 years ago that prohibit all tobacco products in public parks. Mainly because cigarette smokers were leaving their butts everywhere instead of disposing of them properly. Not really anything to do...

Coloring Progress Over Time/No of Bowls in one Meerschaum Pipe

Last year I had 21 meerschaum pipes that I smoked, along with 11 different briars, and 11 different corn cobs, in addition to my cigars. As I don't smoke that much, and trying not to neglect all my pipes, it makes it hard for me to color my meerschaums. I've got multiple meers that I've had...

    Meerschaum Restoration Project

I have found over the years that a paper towel with your own spit (saliva), and some elbow grease works wonders for getting rid of rim charring. It cleans the rims really well, whether it's briar or meerschaum.

Should I Pull the Plug on this Andreas Bauer?

Looking at the pipe, the thing that stands out to me is the metal band. I'm guessing it is a repaired pipe with a new replacement stem. If it was the original pipe then the asking price would be in the ballpark, but since it looks to be repaired it's hard to say. Depends on how well the...

    White Spots on Meerschaum- What?

Nothing to worry about here. It's just part of the coloring process. I have several meerschaum pipes that have similar coloring. Smoke the pipe and enjoy.

Occasional Bad Smoke. Just Move On !

It happens for a variety of reasons. Just the other day I had a bowl that just wouldn't cooperate, and my draw was restricted. After trying to free it, and it not happening, I just dumped the rest of the bowl and cleaned the pipe. Grabbed a different one off the shelf and a different tobacco...

    Arangos Balkan Supreme??

I have both Peter Stokkebye Balkan Supreme and Arango Balkan Supreme. I've heard they're the same thing, but for some reason the PS tastes better to me. They're both good blends, and regular smokes for me, but I seem to enjoy the PS more when I smoke it than I do the Arango. There is about 1...

Check Your Tin Before You Dig In

I've yet to cut myself on one of those tins, but it's something I think about every time I open one. I'm always cautious when I do, as with my luck I would slice my finger and require sutures. Ain't nobody got time for that. LOL

***What Are You Smoking, March 2024?***

There is an individual that posts on YouTube by the name of Joffre the Giant, and at a blending contest, years back, at his local tobacconist, he blended this tobacco and called it Chocolate Manhood. A friend of mine made up a whole bunch based off the blending components and gave me some.
