Morta And Bog Oak: One And Same

Russ Cook made this one for me and I asked him not to stain it. It is Michigan Morta, I'll leave it at that.

Morta And Bog Oak: One And Same

Is Morta a process as to what happened to the wood, it fell in the water and stayed there a long time? Could this wood be something other than Oak, how about bog Yew? (easy fellas) Just asking as I purchased pieces of wood from the same seller and he labeled them differently.

Metro Detroit Pipe Club Road Trip - April

Stopped by Tobacco Rose today. Nice little shop, Joe was smoking a pipe when he greeted me so I guess that's a good sign. Sorry I won't still be in town for your get together, perhaps another time.

    Perique Liquer?

I was watching the travel channel show "Booze Traveler" and his recent adventure took him to NOLA to discuss the Big Easy's drinking culture. My Christmas Pipes

That is really neat coming from your son. Is the Bulldog an Avon cologne bottle? I think they made a series of pipe shapes that held a manly scent.

A Little Too Weird For Me

Didn't Micoli do that sort of extreme rustication on pipes and have it well received at the time. Even now Micoli's pipes seem to command large dollars for what looks like a drunk with a dremmel got lose on a pipe.

Horn Stems, the good, the bad, the ugly facts?

I notice that Trevor Talbert uses a horn stem on many of his Goblins, and there are a batch of Ropps at Smoking Pipes with a horn stem. I have a couple of horn stems coming my way I'd like to try in a pipe under construction.
