The pipe is stamped "Made in Tanganyika" so it has to be at least 52 years of making it the oldest pipe I own to boot. It's a Kiko. According to Pipedia that means the meerschaum came Lake Amboseli. I just received a leather wrapped meerschaum lined bulldog that I bought on ebay. I haven't had a chance to light it up yet, but I'm in love with its aesthetics. It couldn't be prettier and is amazingly light. This may become my new Ennerdale pipe.- foolwiththefez

FDA Regulations and Bulk?
Thank you. That so often gets overlooked when the new regs come up and it is the most infuriating part. They did the same thing years back when they wiped out "flavored" cigarettes because they appealed to teens and kids but (conincidentally) Phillip Morris didn't sell any flavored cigarettes.- foolwiththefez

The only way to know what you like is to smoke a variety. Blends featuring Latakia (called English and/or Balkan) are probably the easiest non-aromatics to get flavor from right away.
