My first estate pipe
That estate seems to be in pristine condition from what one can tell from the picture. I second the advice here, alcohol, water and some pipe cleaners and you are propably good to go. Also check the chamber with a flashligth to see if there are any fractures developing, if yes, simply smoke it...- eaglewriter1

Anyone Given Up On PAD for TAD?
I am currently in the process of thinning out my Pipe Collection but only to then invest the money gained into PAD and propably some TAD^^ So no End in sigth here. Winslow pipes
They smoke great and there are a lot of estates around if you look for something more budget friendly. Or check out the Winslow Crown Pipes. They arent completly hand made from what I have heared but good quality none the less- eaglewriter1

Does alcohol facilitate tongue bite?
Alcohol is besides smoke also an irritant, so I would say it can definitly make it worse, but I never had bad experiences myself- eaglewriter1

What Pipe Brand Most Consistently Makes a Great Smoking Pipe?
Very Subjective Question but If I were condemned to only buy Pipes from one company ever again, it would propably be Savinelli. Usualy Price and performance is exactly on point and you find something from cheap low grades for everyday smokes to your 500$ Luxury Pipe.- eaglewriter1

This reminds me of something some cigar smokers do, to avoid nicotine sickness, when they are sensitive to it: Just get yourself a teaspoon of sugar when you feel dizzy. Abrasive Steel Wool To Polish Your Pipe?
Grade 0000 Steel Wool (Under no circumstances use the stuff from the kitchen it is far too rough!) can be used but you should still be carefull, as this can also damage a pipes finish. Still for Estates with extreme rim darkening and dirt on the outside of the briar, these are real miracle...- eaglewriter1

Why Aren't P-Lips Proprietary?
