    BURLEY ??!! %$@#&%!!

If you haven’t already, try some Old Joe Krantz. To me, it’s like a codger blend with finer leaf. Pack, light, and go. No fuss.

    Hello from Scotland

Welcome from Hawaii! I was in Scotland last year, loved every minute and can't wait to go back. My profile photo was taken in front of Talisker. A beautiful country you have!

    Castello Find

Wow, missed this thread too! Great find and an unheard of price. I had an Old Antiquari poker with a fumed top, one of the best smokers I've ever had. Sold it when I was early on in the piping adventure, I've never had Dunhill Flake taste so good as in that pipe.

    Joura pipe grading

Thank you George! I'll snap some photos and will email Marty. I'll report back with the verdict. I just love a good nomenclature mystery!

    Joura pipe grading

Thanks Michael. I found that article and the grading page, but they don’t have a B grade without the Infinity symbol or mention of a CAO pipe without a grade. Still searching!

    Joura pipe grading

I recently came into possession of two Joura pipes, and the grading is stumping me. Is anyone here familiar with Joura's nomenclature and could lend some insight? The first is marked with just a "B", no infinity, just the "B". A tobacco plant (for the briar origin), and the name Joura is...

    1940 Dunhill with odd stamping

I acquired this 1940 patent Dunhill that may be in the nicest shape of any vintage smooth I’ve had. The stamping is throwing me a curveball, though. It’s most definitely a 1940 from the patent and date code. But following the date code is a uppercase D, followed by an A with a small square, and...

What Is the Single Most Special Blend, or Tin, in Your Stash?

Great thread Jesse. For me, it's a tin of Old Gowrie that I picked up in Scotland. It's the only tin I bought there, and although opened, holds great sentimental value. Aside from that, are my semi-aged tins of Elizabethan Mixture. It's the first tobacco that I purchased when I started (I...

You Can Lead a Horse to Water .... Sellers of Pipes Who Have Absolutely No Idea

Every now and then I'll come across a pipe auction on eBay where the seller has absolutely no idea what they are doing. This "unsmoked" Castello, for example: https://www.ebay.com/itm/163018477429 You can send them a message, but they won't be having any of that. It took 5 minutes of Google...
