    THE SHORT, SHORT SMOKE.

Yeah, I’m with ember on either adding moisture or packing tighter. One major reason I switched over from cigars to pipes was the issue of time: Pipes allow me to fill the bowel to the amount of time that I have available (or finish later without the bitter taste assoc with cigars). For cigars, I...

    End of lunting season

WOW, that certainly is cold...miserably cold. It’s like that here in Louisiana except its the heat! The heat is unbearable and ruins the experience of smoking. In the past, I would have to sit in my truck with the AC on just to get some vitamin N. LOL

The Most Moronic Thing You’ve Ever Done

I agree with Warren....on a public forum...you know the whole digital footprint and it stays out there forever kind of thing :(

Cornell & Diehl Bailey’s Front Porch- The American/English Blend

Very good review, Ora. I especially appreciate the fact that it pairs well with coffee. While I love C&D blends, I have always struggled with enjoying English blends. I want to enjoy them but there’s just something—-maybe the Latakia?—that is just interferes with my experience :( I do have a...

    Cornell & Diehl Haunted Bookshop

Haunted Bookshop is one of my main staples in my rotation. I have mason jars of this stuff, definitely my favorite this time of the year. There’s something about burley and cold winter months that warm me up inside. C&D HB never disappointments (IMHO)

    Cleaning and resting

Depending on the price of the pipe, I may smoke it once then do a quick clean before letting it rest for a day or so. I have a Rossi that I will smoke back to back with no problems, but I always need to run a pipe cleaner through it especially once I start hearing a gurgle sound to prevent the...

    Packing pipes for days

Come to think of it, I mostly did this with C&D Exclusive and Haunted Bookshop. So maybe it works well with burley blends as well as Virginia’s.

    Packing pipes for days

Yeah, I tried the delayed gratification technique (DGT) but it didnt work. I lacked the self-discipline to hold out. BUT there were times when I didnt have enough time to finish a bowl and was forced to set it aside until the next day. Surprisingly, it wasnt that bad. I cant say for sure it was...

    Leather Pipe Stand Hack

A few years back I remember reading on the forums that some members would use old belts to make the loops to make homemade pipestands! I saved one of my old belts but never got around to it :(

Just 1 Picture - Pipe Stands

That is a really cool collection of vintage pipe holders! I don’t know how you managed to collect all of these over the years but you did an amazing job

    Refinishing Grandpa’s pipe rack

Man you are so fortunate to have inherited that after all these years. Surprisingly, it stayed in the family. I am so jealous! It’s going to look amazing when you are finished :)

    Who Uses Matches?

I used to use matches for my cigars but never tried with my pipe. I admire those who are talented enough to be able to use matches—-especially one—-to light their pipe!

Can you spray cologne inside the bowl ?

Oh goodness no! As Jacob said, you may introduce new oils into the wood that would permanently ghost your pipe—-or at least for a LONG time. Do the deep clean method!

    Is this mold?

Personally, I think its plume not mold. I’ve had plume on many of my cigars before after aging. Ive read on the forums where some members just break off the chunk of mold and keep on smoking!
