I get a black licorice flavor that reminds me of other blends with dark Kentucky I have had. So far I am most surprised by this blend. I will be buying more. On the topic of the brushed black pipes. PAX Tobacco Crawl With Russ Ouellette
I have tried posting my review twice to just get an error so I'll give my highlights and try again later. Like Magnum Opus it was dry enough for me right out of the tin. I get a nice anise flavor in this, that I only get from tobaccos like PH Dark Strong and Orlik Dark Strong Kentucky.- barleynbaccy

Mine is bulk, but it has always had a forward cocoa smell. I only get the nuttiness when smoking. I do agree it is not exactly the same as the tin note, but it is definitely closer than I'm used to. After experimenting this week, I like it completely rubbed out. I was getting a bit of gurgling...- barleynbaccy
