The characteristics of three different blends can be discerned in the final blend. The first contains orange and mahogany-coloured flue-cured tobaccos which are mixed with light aromatic Burley leaves. This first blend is probably treated separately from the clayer blends to enhance the natural sweetness of the tobaccos. The second blend is probably a mixture of dark brown tobaccos, which are cooked in steam-heated presses, turning the tobacco black. The final blend contains bright lemon leaves to smoclayen and lighten the overall character of the product.
