Another addition to the collection

Got this Sasieni Gold Star DeLuxe the other day. I really like the robustness and feel of it.

Today is a good day.

The mailman was really kind to me today. Two hours after the package from 4Noggins arrived, a small package containing these three beauties were sitting i my hand.

Too few smokingoppotunities

The biggest setback for me as a new pipesmoker is that there are so few opportunities for me to have a bowl or two. Right now there are -30 degrees celcius here (-22 fahrenheit?) and it is not so fun to go out. I find myself sitting lurking around on pipeforums, blogs and reviewsites just longing for the weather to get a bit warmer. I am dreaming of a room in the house that I can smoke in, but I know that will never happen.

How have you solved it? Do you smoke indoors, or do I just live on the wrong place on earth?

Since I like to read about other pipsmokers pipes I thought I couldgive a small contribution myself. Most of them are estate pipes and I am not really sure about all brands and names of the pipes. Anyone with more info is more than welcome to make the list complete and correct.

Hello from Dernebo

I thought I could start with a presentation here on this blog. I guess it won’t be updated at all, but at least I can use it as a presentation.
I have never smoked anything in my life and I never thought I would either, but in januari 2009 my son was born and my wife said something like “-Shouldn’t you have bought a cigar to celebrate?”. Well, when I get interrested in something special I always get into it to 100%. So, after a while I have a few humidours and a lot of different cigars. Trying out all the different types and reading everything about it as well.

A few months later I thought I could give smoking a pipe a try. I started out reading a lot about it and I bought my first estate pipe. A Ratos City that I got really cheap. I started out trying a few tobaccotypes and really liked it. At first I saw it as a compliment for the cigars, but lately the pipe have been more frequent than the cigars.

And as I wrote earlier I do everything to 100%. So, now a few months later I have about 15 different pipes in different shapes and sizes. I guess I am a bit of a collector as well.

The winter is here now in sweden and I have found out that I like the pipe more when it is cold outside. There have been a lot of walks with our dogs with the company of a pipe and some good tobacco.

So as a quite new pipesmoker I just wanted to say hi and tell you a bit about myself and why I stumbled upon this hobby.
