Welcome to Episode 21. Since it’s our 21st show, we decided to do a little drinking. Brian took one for the team and did some drinking and smoking experiments to see if he could come up with some good tobacco & spirits pairings. He’ll report the results in our first segment. Our feature interview tonight is with pipes & tobaccos industry legend Marty Pulvers. Marty was the proprietor of the now defunct Sherlock’s Haven in San Francisco, which Forbes Magazine once rated as "one of the top 10 tobacconists in the world." Currently, Marty sells a vast selection of estate pipes on his website, Pulvers’ Briar, and he is co-organizer of the West Coast Pipe Show held in Las Vegas the first weekend in November.

Wow. One month is already done in 2013, and as it turns out, we have five Thursday’s in January, so this is like an extra bonus show. We hope you enjoy listening as much as we do producing the show. In tonight’s "Pipe Parts" segment, the more Brian talks, the more you will be confused when he tries to tell you which factories make which tobaccos and how different brands move from one factory to another. Our interview tonight is with pipe maker Steve Morrisette. Steve is a highly regarded master craftsman, and he is also multi-talented working in the past as a professional photographer and drummer. We have one of his musical pieces queued up for after his interview.

Olie makes extremely unique and creative pipes, and he has one of the longest running and most popular pipe podcasts called Oom Paul. So tonight, the tobacco fans will get some great info on how one of the largest pipe tobacco factories in the world operates. Our featured guest tonight is Cartoonist Jerry King. Jerry draws the cartoons for Pipes Magazine, Playboy, and several other publications. His grandfather was a pipe smoker, and he draws some inspiration from that. At the end of the show, Brian has a great rant about the hypocrisy of a hospital’s "Tobacco Free Campus".
