Thank you for joining us for The Pipes Magazine Radio Show—the only radio talk show for pipe smokers and collectors. We broadcast weekly, every Tuesday at 8 pm eastern USA time and are available on nearly all podcast sites and apps. Listen on your computer, tablet, phone and even in the car! Our featured interview tonight is with Wayne Powers. He is a Jazz Vocalist, Actor / Comedian, Voiceover Artist, and Radio Personality. Wayne was on TV in the 1970s and 80s, runs a tea importing business, and at one time was an importer of pipe tobacco. He is of course, a pipe smoker. We will skip Pipe Parts and start right off with our extended conversation with Wayne. He’s got some great stories! Sit back, relax with your pipe, and enjoy The Pipes Magazine Radio Show!

Tonight’s show is sponsored by SmokingPipes.com, Cornell & Diehl, Missouri Meerschaum, and Savinelli Pipes and Tobaccos. Please give them some consideration when making your next pipe or tobacco purchase.

We hope you enjoy our 1-hour show produced just for you—the pipe smoker and collector. The following link will launch a pop-up player. Alternatively, you can download the show in iTunes and other podcast sites and apps after the initial broadcast is complete here.

This was one of, if not THE best interviews you’ve done. Thanks for the entertainment.

That was a great show. Wayne was very funny with a lot of great stories about the business. I couldn’t believe how long he spent in L.A. and didn’t become jaded. And then he moved to North Carolina; what’s that all about? I about lost it when he did his “No more signs” bit.

Terrific show. Wayne was filled with the perfect spirit of a pipe smoker. As a tea aficionado I really appreciated his comments on that subject. I loved his music and will definitely be looking for that new album.

This was one of my all-time favorite interviews. I’ve long been a fan of Wayne Powers the actor/musician but had no idea that he was such a connoisseur of the finer things such as pipes, tobacco, and tea. I was proud of myself smoking some Red Ribbon in a long-shanked Weaver pot until you threw him a curve ball with your pairing question. I nearly spit out my high-dollar loose-leaf green tea, but he’s is correct…it pairs better with black tea.

Great show, Brian! I loved the stories but mostly, the tea part. Wayne shares his knowledge and his stories in a beautiful and entertaining way, great interview, congrats!
