  • Lars Ivarsson was a giant among pipe carvers. I saw him at Chicago the few times I went there for the pipe show. Never talked to him unfortunately. Didn’t figure he needed to hear what he meant to the American pipe community from a nobody like me. I was very disappointed in the forum community’s response to his passing. Maybe 25 of us expressed our dismay over his passing.
Tom’s brother has a tough row to hoe facing Heart & Lung transplants. That’s really tough. Hope he makes it.
Good stories on B&M’s. I think every store has faced the conundrum of what to do about the guy who is always complaining about the draw on his cigars. Laughed out loud over the women that couldn’t get along with the cigar store Indian. At our local B&M we play cards, dominoes, gin, shoot the breeze and generally have a nice time. I always make a point of buying something.

  • Great show. I like that you touched on etiquette of a B&M. That can be very helpful. I wonder if there are more topics that you could discuss the etiquette of a pipe smoker, such as sharing tobacco at pipe shows or in lounges. Not as hard rules, but a guideline for a newer smoker.

  • I loved the natural flow of conversation between you and Thom. I agree with kcghost, the cigar Indian fight was quite amusing! Etiquette is always good to go over, even if most of it is common sense. Do what you know until you know better.
